Yes. It reduces tightness and irritation and works as a gentle moisturising base. 73% noticed less visible redness.

How do I use it?

Morning and evening, with your hands or a clean cotton pad (recommended if you use it to cleanse). Apply it to the face, neck and décolleté, or to other areas with redness. Because of its lactic acid, use sun protection during the day.

Can it be used as a makeup remover?

Yes, but avoid the eye area: the lactic acid can sting there.

What is the Moisturizing Milky Toner?

A milky toner that hydrates, soothes, removes makeup and exfoliates very gently. It contains 1.8% lactic acid, 6% fatty acids and milk peptides. 30 minutes after application, skin hydration is 20% above its initial level, and it is still 14% above 8 hours later.

Does it contain donkey milk?

No. It only contains the donkey-milk ingredients that benefit the skin, so the donkeys can stay in the fields looking after their young. It is not vegan: the milk peptides are essential to its soothing effect.

Does it contain fragrance?

Yes, with milky notes. If you are allergic to any fragrance component, check the ingredient list.

Can I use it if I am lactose intolerant or allergic to milk?

Lactose intolerance does not prevent you from using it. If you are allergic to milk proteins, ask your doctor or pharmacist, or write to us.

Why Cleopatra?

She is the figure most associated with donkey-milk baths, probably due to a Roman exaggeration meant to portray her as extravagant, later popularised by Hollywood and Asterix. The first woman we know for certain used them was Poppaea Sabina, wife of Nero; Joséphine Bonaparte did too.

How long does a bottle last?

At least 2 months, and up to 6 months according to some customers. Once opened, use within 6 months.

Are they suitable for oily or acne-prone skin?

Yes, they contain no comedogenic ingredients. If you have doubts or recurring acne, choose the serum, which contains no fatty ingredients.

From what age can they be used?

From 16 years old.

Can I wear makeup afterwards?

Yes, both products work as a makeup primer.

Can I use them if I have rosacea or dermatitis?

Can I use them during pregnancy?

The serum contains no retinoids, salicylic acid, hydroquinone or essential oils. The toner contains bergamot essential oil at a very low concentration in its fragrance. We have not carried out a specific assessment for pregnancy, so we recommend you ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Long associated with Cleopatra, donkey milk baths represent a widespread beauty ritual. Although ancient sources do not confirm their use by the queen, Roman authors popularized this image.

This ritual was later adopted by Poppaea Sabina, wife of Nero, who is said to have demanded daily baths to preserve her skin. Later still, Josephine de Beauharnais, fascinated by ancient traditions, is also believed to have incorporated these treatments into her routine.

In cosmetic care, interest in organic and biomimetic ingredients continues to grow. Donkey milk stands out due to its similarity to human breast milk, which largely explains its beneficial effects.

A controversial trend has emerged on social media surrounding colostrum and breast milk. Despite ethical and health concerns, it highlights the richness of biomimetic peptides, essential fatty acids, and natural hydrating factors present in breast milk.

These components stimulate cell renewal, improve texture and hydration, and restore skin balance. The use of donkey milk thus embodies a gentle biotechnology, blending mythical traditions with modern dermatological advancements.
